Like you genuinely have little to no understanding of history if you think a group supporting Palestine suddenly means they didn’t and don’t still commit atrocities against other countries (usually against countries that are in the global south/usually black and brown countries)

I personally wouldn’t call it PR just hypocrisy and a double standard. For the soft power thing, that’s more or less any western nation (I can say that part confidently but my education about the east is limited so take that aspect with a grain of salt). This entire post was actually caused by me seeing someone claim Spain was an anti genocide nation bc people donated to Palestine. I’m not sure majority of Latin America, the Caribbean, and indigenous people of America would agree with that 😅.

Though over the past few years I’ve noticed some people trying to give a rebrand to multiple European nations and claim they don’t have a violent history “like Israel”. I know most people don’t look at this point but to me the harm that was brought to other nations still continues because of how much brutality caused the people of those nations to adopt the values of the countries that colonized and are now struggling to follow those values bc of their pre colonial history. account for these nations being pushed to those values/standards by international practices since those are usually run by the bigger, more powerful countries that either helped with their colonization or are allied with those countries. Or the fact that so many nations still have their hands in multiple parts of Africa which is also contributing to destabilization. And sorry for the long message

That too, a lot of the countries that helped create the issue are trying to wash their hands clean of it like it’s not partially their fault it’s happening
