Where does it imply she had a car to begin with? And in what world is it okay for an elderly person to 1.) have to work a grueling shift at that age, 2.) have to walk 24 miles EVERY SHIFT??

How slow are you walking? 20 min mile is my walking pace so I'd be done in 4 hours... and I'm guessing they mean round trip

The person they got this number from, the woman’s coworker, did specify he meant 12 hrs each way. So… 8hrs of walking is a nice brisk pace. Cannot imagine she was actually doing that for more than a day.
