My friend is going down a pseudoscience pipeline and is the most stubborn person I know. How tf do I bring her back

My Dad did this a few years back when I was young and he was bodybuilding and experimenting with diets. Then he stopped because he realised it wasn’t good for him. If it were me I’d give my opinion, send the studies and leave her. People are gonna do what they want at the end of the fact

She has decided to follow a carnivore diet and is convinced she does not need any fiber intake, fruits, veggies, etc, at all. She also was drinking raw milk in the past, unsure if she still is. Other things along those lines, and said she does not trust modern medicine/healthcare professionals at all. Im considering dropping her bc this is ridiculous

I warned her but she said shes using the bathroom better now 🤦‍♀️ I do believe that she feels better with the protein and iron increase, but cutting out everything else COMPLETELY is what I find ridiculous

yeah i get that, it is really easy to fall for diets like that these days when "regular" food is literally poison though. but if you wanna do an all natural diet carnivore is definitely not the way to go the dehydration and vitamin/hormone imbalances are abt to go crazy

even if you can tell her to follow it but a bit more loosely, like eating fruit and veg on cheat days? idk the mindset is kinda crazy

Literally all I am asking of her is to still eat whatever fruits and vegs etc that she needs to meet macros/micros/vitamins/minerals, etc. Even if its not everyday. She seriously believes that eating just meat and dairy will meet everything, and that she wont even need a multivitamin or other supplements.

She does, I don’t think shes even into raw meats that can be eaten raw. She also was literally just vegan like a month ago because she got disgusted of eating meat entirely, from when she made her thanksgiving turkey 🤦‍♀️

yeah that's crazy. lowkey at that point i would guess it's symptoms of an eating disorder, which can happen to anyone no matter how smart they are in everything else

She’s had a lot of gut issues the past year or so. We’re almost certain she has celiacs, but she still eats gluten occasionally which is why she probably still is having issues. She switches diets every few months then wonders why her gut is so unhealthy and upset. She also has some skin issues which we think are immune related, and she refuses to see a doctor and is instead trying to only heal it through eating. Which carnivore has helped with! But she takes it way too far.

I guess an ED would make sense. It’s probably the only way that she feels in control of her health, under the guise of following every new supposedly “good” diet, then refusing to see the bad sides of it

I’m in vet school and could send you some stuff about all the zoonotic diseases that cows have that can be passed through their milk if it’s not pasteurized if you think that would help convince her

yes that's exactly my point, like eds are control issues at their core and that's what needs addressing not just the eating havits
