For the record, because I know someone’s thinking it, I don’t do anything for anyone but myself. My father was a poor masculine influence and considerably damaged my childhood, so I committed myself in high school to be the opposite of him for when I have my own family

Read the book of John in the Bible and also some Psalms. You won’t find better and more memorable examples of men who understood what you want to understand here. Shouldn’t take more than an hour or so.
