
the problem with “I’m just a girl” is that it’s self-infantalizing, in a way that many many misogynists have relied on infantalizing women to block women from work, from government, from being capable individuals, etc. normally, “I’m just a girl” is meant harmlessly, but it contributes to a wider narrative of incapable women who need a male protector
I don’t think that at all. Like I said it’s an excuse inverse to “boys will be boys”. If men are allowed to get away with horrible acts with an excuse of oh they’re just being boys. Then women creating their own to rationalize / justify why they did stuff. I don’t think most people take it seriously.
