Quoting the bible is pointless, because it’s a long story book, and there’s a quote for literally every situation which you can spin into whatever narrative or point that you want. It’s no different than quoting a dictionary.

And the amount of slavery, genocide, infanticide, abuse, neglect, racism, ableism…. It’s just not a good book.

If you’re going to claim it’s fabricated can you substantiate why the disciples would spread a message, with nothing to gain, knowing it’d get them killed? Looking forward to your response

You can’t really evidently say the Bible is 100% fictional or 100% nonfictional. It’s about 50/50

The disciples literally died for the message of Jesus Christ. They did most definitely proclaim the word of God. So why would they spread a message knowing it’d would get them killed if it s fiction like you claim it to be

I didn’t say it was fabricated. I intentionally compared it to a dictionary, which is objectively the most non-fictional book in existence specifically so little pussies like you wouldn’t start bitching about stupid irrelevant shit like you’re doing right now.

So why don’t you take the bible as the authoritative word of God?

Because I personally do not believe that god gives a shit about any of us, if it even exists. Again, completely irrelevant to the point at hand. Let’s say that it IS the word of god. God has said tons of shit. It’s not hard to twist gods words into whatever the fuck you want them to mean. It has been done countless time throughout history to justify war, genocide, rape, murder, racism, greed. Every evil you can imagine.

The bible is pretty clear on murder, greed, rape, genocide, whatever else of the sort to be wrong. War, well you can definitely defend your homeland. I can give you verses to show what I just listed. And just because people have twisted the word to fit their narrative doesn’t mean God doesn’t have an actual word. I hope this makes sense. In a nutshell, the Bible is the foretelling and then coming of Christ, who died on the cross for people to receive the free gift of eternal life

And yet, it is still used in that way. And here we are with Pete Hegseth framing the war on Iran that we started at the whims of Israel, here we are with him framing it as a holy war, literally holding prayer sessions for him and his generals like a crusader You claim god celebrates peace. Hegseth claims he has blessed us for war and clearly considers the crusades, one of humanities greatest atrocities, as aspirational You want your faith to be celebrated? Tell them to get their shit together

people have died for cults throughout history. people have died during protests. people have died for MUCH LESS. so ppl dying for jesus doesnt actually mean much

So you take man’s failures as proof that God eternal word can’t be real because imperfect people aren’t perfectly representing the word of God?

My point of it was that when the disciples died, the history books show that the Bible isn’t fiction. The disciples truly believe the Bible is the word of God. Now of course people do die for what they believe in all the time, and that’s another topic

people believe crazy things all the time. and yes the bible is mostly fiction with bits of history thrown in. jesus was likely a real person, but there is no evidence for the exodus, noah's ark, or adam and eve

Sure there can definitely be parts where evidence is lacking. Jesus is a confirmed real person, who even died on the cross is accepted by all historians, secular included! The main debate is seeing if Jesus is God. Jesus fulfilled so many prophecies from the Old Testament that it’s mathematically impossible. I could list a few if you are interested!

i don't deny him being a real person. and him "fulfilling" old testament prophecies doesn't matter bc it's all make believe anyway

Not to come off the wrong way, but do you realize the implications of all the OT prophecies being fulfilled? No Joe schmo will be able to do that, it clearly demonstrates Jesus being God. And if that’s the case, all of the Bible is the word of God

am i supposed to be blown away by that, when the same book that says that every animal fit into a wooden boat and survived for 40-365+ days? it obviously isn't a reputable source

Muslims died for Allah, does that prove that Islam is true?

Yes because it’s literally mathematically impossible. So it’s quite evident that only one person could do that and that’s Jesus. And it takes less faith to believe in the ark than thinking the universe literally came from nothing at all

if you genuinely believe 2 of every land animal and insect on the planet somehow linked up to get onto one boat in the middle east and survived on it for 365+ days..... why are you using the phrase "mathematically impossible" 💀 be consistent

my point still stands. you can't use the phrase mathematically impossible in support of your religion because there are many impossibilities that can be used against it. that's inconsistent do you see where i am coming from?
