Technically identifying with any political party is un-American as some of the founding fathers as well as the first president didn't intend for multiple political parties. He goes over how they surface level may be good, evidently being hijacked by corrupt individuals and destroy the very system that allowed them to succeed. Other founding fathers have gone into depth on why multiple political parties are just bad in general.
I feel like having an opinion is American, but when it goes to the extreme I believe people lose the meaning behind movements like it. I'm not politically leaning either way, I agree and disagree with both sides on many things, but I think the most American thing is taking pride in yourself and sticking to the values you uphold, even if someone disagrees (btw this does not mean I agree with the MAGA super hate or the far left crazies, I just think opinions and sharing them is American)
Bruh this is like calling ICE the gestapo as if our slave patrol didn’t inspire the nazis and then become our police system. Did you miss the exception clause in the 13th amendment that “abolished slavery” and simultaneously seeded the prison industrial complex which is literally modern day slavery and has been considered a humanitarian crisis for a long time?? You mfs will do everything but admit that America is fundamentally corrupt. DECOLONIZE NOW
Your claim was you had data, theory, and real world success that countered the idea that they turn into authoritarian states where people are imprisoned are killed. Then you claimed I pedal propaganda while literally treading water for the things that led to millions of deaths globally, as well as famines, and oppressive regimes.
So adorable watching adolescent children on this thread with zero life experience while living off someone else’s money suddenly becoming global political experts decrying the very ideals which allow them to freely express themselves without fear. But yeah, let’s burn it all down in the name of progress. Bless your little hearts.
What exactly do you propose we do Citizens are shot at rallies Protests are no longer peaceful because protesters get shot Anything that’s spoken out about trump is shut down by boot licking ass kissing maggats It’s kind of hard to change anything when laws are being made that make it nearly impossible to be able to change the govt…and also slowly working towards taking women’s rights to vote away
Nah man red or blue don’t mean shit. Don’t vote the way they want you to, how you’re expected to. Doesn’t matter really. Just vote for the third party/ candidate… even if they got a boot on their head a la Vermin Supreme the vote demands something different than the norm. Cus then it’s just the same shit n nothing ever changes… just gets worse.
You missed my point, too many people follow large beliefs blindly mainly because of the masses. I'm just tryna say people should get their own beliefs based on what they think instead of getting into the group think mentality where it's us vs them, which divides people. I feel that if more people were true to what they believe instead of trying to fit in with people, that would make them more of an American than following the masses.
It’s time to grow up lil bro, If we reject every historical figure because they held views that were common in their era, there'd be almost no one left to study or respect. Judge them honestly, History isn't all-or-nothing, history isn't a Marvel movie where everyone's either a hero or a villain. They deserved condemnation for owning slaves, and they deserve credit for principles that later generations used to destroy slavery. Adults can hold both thoughts at once.
"Destroy slavery" is hilarious. Slavery did not get abolished in the 13th amendment. It got relocated to the prison industrial complex. Did you miss the exception clause??? Colonialism didn't just happen in the past. It stratified our social hierarchy and left lasting patterns of disparity and harm. That ripple is called coloniality and America's greatest lie is that it isn't real. Coloniality runs on denial. Growing up is understanding that the US is fundamentally flawed.
The 1994 Crime Bill, championed by Biden and signed by Clinton, accelerated mass incarceration, disproportionately affecting Black Americans, by expanding mandatory minimums, funding prison construction, and incentivizing states to toughen sentencing. Democratic-led cities and states have often maintained aggressive policing and prosecution frameworks even as the party rhetorically embraced reform. Substantive federal reform has repeatedly stalled under Democratic control.
The US incarcerates more people per capita than any country on earth. More than Russia, more than China. Mass incarceration functions as a parallel economy of social control, disproportionately targeting Black and poor communities. Countries that do this at this scale are usually not considered free societies in any serious sense.
That's great in theory and you have the right idea but unfortunately it's not as simple as that. We live under late stage colonial capitalism. This system requires hyper individualism which creates isolation and ultimately loneliness. This is why people cling so desperately to archetypes that allow them to fit into a box. People don't just do things. They act on structural incentives. You cannot ask anything to change without identifying and changing incentives, like ending profit motive!
If you want people to actually come together, you have to let go of "every man for himself" in its entirety. Indigenous societies have held knowledge on how to self govern functioning fair societies, and you know what the key is? Matricentric social structure centered around life, creation, and reciprocity rather than hierarchy, power, and control.
You want to eliminate us vs them thinking? Then it's time to listen to the most deeply marginalized people on this earth. It's time to stop giving your power to borders and bureaucracies. They have been warning of all this harm for centuries. The separation of life is the greatest illusion we experience. Until we all realize this, we will live in separate nations as if divided.
It’s not about what you aren’t doing, it’s about what you ARE doing without realizing it. Stop playing by broken rules made by people who never intended to follow them. Reject this paradigm. The only mistake you are making is giving up your free will to us vs them thinking. The problem is much much much bigger than Trump and people are too afraid to acknowledge that.
It makes sense for the time being to vote in at the very least people that respect the constitution. If those voted in find that the majority of constituents don’t want what they are doing the logical decision is to shift gears and try to be a better representative. Why do yall act like it’s inevitable for corruption to win? It’s actually up to us entirely
Trump did not ruin america. He shined light onto the evil that it already was since the very beginning. What part about our violent foundation do you not understand? Mfs want to act like being MAGA is unamerican NO homie it’s the most traditionally american you can get and it’s the reason america needs to go.
“ab jack” lol you cited the founders like they hold inherent credibility, and when I pointed out the many ways in which that notion ultimately defeats itself, you deflected. You can just admit you learned US history from the US and aren’t ready to confront the difficult truth. What is and isn’t American ideology is as contradictory as the Bible. American ideology disagrees with itself. It’s the same circular logic as citing the bible as evidence of God.
Bro all I said was they didn’t care for a multiple party system and you can condemn them for the wrong they did but acknowledge the right they did as well. What are you talking about 💀 you didn’t respond to any of my points with a proper counter argument, rather rambled on ab sum fake woke nonsense, grow up kid
Your argument assumes “crime” is a neutral, pre-existing category that slavery just happens to punish. It’s not. Right after the 13th Amendment passed, southern states wrote Black codes and vagrancy laws specifically to criminalize freed Black people for things like “loitering” or being unemployed. That’s not coincidence, that’s engineering.
So the “debt to society” framing is circular. Society defines the crime, then profits off the labor of whoever it decides is a criminal. That’s literally the diagram you posted: lobby against reform, more prison labor, more profit, repeat. The system isn’t punishing pre-existing crime, it’s manufacturing criminals to keep the labor pipeline running.
Also worth pointing out: the amendment doesn’t say “slavery is different from punishment.” It says slavery is banned “except as punishment for crime.” That’s not a moral distinction, it’s a legal carve-out. It was written that way on purpose so the practice could continue under a new label. Lincoln calling it “punishment” doesn’t make it not-slavery, it just tells you what loophole they used.
It’s crazy to say this when Democrats suppressed free speech from 2020-2024 and worked with tech companies to spy on people, ruin careers, and control what people could or could not see. Not to mention repressing religious freedom, the 2nd amendment, and flooding with people who would wipe their ass with the constitution without a second thought
Yes we can agree that was an abuse of a loophole. What they did to target newly-freed people was wrong. We finally have some COMMON GROUND. But comparing that to what is happening today is not the same thing. No one alive today in the US was born a chattel slave. No one alive today has just been freed then returned to bondage via prison labor. There’s a distinct difference to then vs now.
Got anything to say about the exception clause? or the fact that we have the highest incarceration rate per capita with over 2 million people incarcerated? Or that we have the highest recidivism rate in the developed world? Or the fact that these institutions disproportionately target and affect people of color?
Nobody’s saying it’s identical, the point is that it’s the same tool still running. The exception clause didn’t get used once in 1865 and retire. It’s the same legal loophole powering forced labor today, still overwhelmingly targeting Black Americans through sentencing disparities that trace straight back to those Black codes. “Distinct difference” doesn’t erase reality.
Per capita crime rates don’t explain sentencing disparities for the same offense, which is what’s actually happening. Black and white Americans get charged and sentenced differently for identical crimes, that’s documented across DOJ and Sentencing Commission data. You’re swapping the topic because the legal mechanism argument doesn’t have a good answer.
Demanding a “pure” implementation of any complex ideology is a rigged standard, capitalism’s never existed in a “pure” form either. The USSR and China industrialized under siege and civil war, not the conditions Marx wrote about. Nordic models and worker co-ops like Mondragon show collective ownership without authoritarianism. You’re using “not pure enough” to dismiss successes and “proof” for every failure. That’s not an argument.
The government was flawed when it was founded. There were definitely issues that needed fixing. The founders did the best they could to establish a framework for success. Then they enabled us to change and adapt with things as time went on. That’s part of the beauty of our founding. It established American Exceptionalism that leaves us still striving for greater and greater things to this day.
You literally just restated the thing being criticized as if it answers the criticism lol “The system enables us to change and adapt” doesn’t address why the change has been so slow and uneven, or why the mechanisms being discussed (prison labor, sentencing disparities) have persisted for 160 years despite that supposed capacity for adaptation. Calling it “the beauty of our founding” is a values claim, not a rebuttal to a factual one about ongoing harm.
Trump unfortunately was the most corrupt person that told what a lot of the republicans base thst he’d overturn roe v wade, which they wanted since 1980s and every republican campaigned on it and failed to follow through and only cut taxes for the rich. So they were already disillusioned.
Bribery was legalized with the Citizens United decision. This is why everything has gone to shit, that and the deregulation of Wall Street. Bush was the main one to light the constitution on fire. The War in Iraq, and especially the Guantanamo Bay Toture program and the Patriot Act and legalization of warrantless surveillance normalized the denial of due process for those deemed “enemies of the state,” and the violation of the fourth amendments search and seizure clause.
Blacks have historically had institutionalized racism (a backable claim because southern states first and northern states found ways to bypass the 15th amendment, and the 13th amendment especially. If you could criminalize poverty, and criminalize homelessness you could effectively possess a large degree of control of the minority population
Bruh. The Nazis were quite literally inspired by what we did to black and indigenous people. Our government following the Nazis is really just it following its own roots. America is the OG nazi nation. ICE is following in the footsteps of AMERICA but you're too busy going "this is unamerican" to notice what's really happening here. This is not unamerican. This is America running exactly how it always has. FUCK AMERICA.
