Some of it can be cultural tbf. In some cultures its bad manners to accept a compliment

Some people are just shy also! Though some are also just stuck up (but i think its a small minority, even mean people love compliments)

Maybe its some people, but theres plenty of reasons someone might not react that arent malicious. Most people generally try to be good. And like i said, even assholes love a compliment
