Is that the argument we’re using to determine viability? Every medical professional understands that life begins at conception. No, im not talking about the people—well, some of them, we have more than a few bigots here—I'm talking about the fact that we have no public transit, the governments here hate minorities and women and the homeless, and a slew of other issues, like the ID verification BS. Again, besides the food, what is there to love about Texas that is unique to Texas? Don't say "the people", people are everywhere. You can hate a state and still appreciate the few good people here.

You can find good geography in plenty of other states. The few "okay" things Texas has do not make up for all the other things I listed. A fetus is alive and its human, but I don’t consider it a person until the nervous system is developed enough that it can form a consciousness. A living organism that can’t think, feel, or experience pain is no different to me than a carrot. We kill livestock every day with more consciousness and emotion than a second term fetus, with more capability of suffering, and we still enjoy our steak and pork chops.

I would feel different about late term abortions for the same reason, but the week of consciousness is roughly the same week as viability. If drs believe the fetus has a possibility to survive, they’ll deliver instead of abort. It isn’t medical protocol to kill the fetus before it dies naturally outside of the womb unless it’s considered too much a threat to the mother not to do so, or more humane for the fetus to do so.

You assuming that the fetus is in less pain while in the womb with its mother vs the cold air, where they are all struggling to breathe because the lungs are the least developed organ at that stage, feeling pain in places they never had to while being touched and held and unsuspended in amniotic fluid is an assumption. I used to work as a PCT in the NICU. The cries are haunting.

Not always. There have been a few cases where the public voted against the use of flock cameras but they were implemented anyway via “emergency”.
