I know this may be a hot take, but I think it should be offending pedophiles (those who purchase csam material aswell). Pedophila is a mental illness that can be treated and worked on with counseling. We should be able to try to help those with this issue find ways to live life without getting urges

That is your opinion. I agree the offending pedophiles should be in the ground but those who recognize their issue and work towards fixing it should be allowed to get access to help

Wouldn’t you say that providing therapy and counciling to those who have pedophilic thoughts is good to stop those people from offending? If they can realize what they are going through and realize it is wrong. It is preventative action

There was a guy who “recognized” it and was supposedly recovered, then he r@ped and killed his neighbor’s daughter after luring her into his bedroom (I forget her name but her death is the reason the government must inform you if your new neighbor has a record of anything pertaining to children).

Then he never truly recovered then. Sure there will be people who can’t recover after therapy and treatment but that doesn’t mean that nobody who gets treatment can’t be treated. There is no such thing as an 100% effective therapy treatment

My point is I don’t think pedophilia is curable. That guy got extensive treatment and then went on to murder a little girl. Any other pedo could do exactly the same. This is definitely not a surface level issue, and it’s not as simple as giving someone treatment just because they acknowledged their illness.

Yeah, it is complicated definitely. But there should be preventative measures able to be done for those who recognize this issue within themselves or even if someone else around them sees this in them.
