
South Sudan can be in a bad situation and America can also be in a bad situation. Just because it isn’t the worst it could possibly be doesn’t mean it isn’t bad. People starving in the streets is bad. People being addicted to drugs is bad. People struggling to scrape by is bad. It’s definitely worse in other places, but it isn’t good here for the vast majority of people
Im genuinely not arguing with your family’s perspective at all and I don’t know where you got that from, nor am I comparing the two situations. All I am saying is that just because one situation is undoubtedly worse than the other doesn’t make the other situation any less bad. + it is more than “not liking the current president”, these problems have existed for decades without being solved. These are very real issues, and pointing them out shouldn’t detract from your family’s experience
