Sounds like your foramen ovale didn’t close? Shocking news to hear I’m sure, but you’ll be ok. Sending hugs

Yup, got an ecg yesterday and just got the results on my mychart today, it says one thing they tested was “indicative of a significant sized intricardiac shunt” between my left and right atrium, “shunt” being the medical word for a hole in the heart :,)

The grinch never had a hole in his heart though…? It was small and then it grew three sizes at the end

Either it leads to oxygenated blood going back to the lungs along with unoxygenated blood (what I have I think) or it leads to unoxygenated blood being pumped throughout the body along with oxygenated blood. The latter is much worse, though the former can also cause complications. There’s also a third type called a circular shunt that’s life-threatening since it causes some blood to stay in the heart and not go out to the rest of the body, but that one’s super uncommon
