it’s always weird to me when people say being skinny/fit means you’re more disciplined or “respect yourself” more. i don’t think that deeply when i see someone’s body. not everything has to mean something deeper… sometimes it’s just a body 🤷🏽‍♀️

And maybe someone who’s overweight is disciplined, they’re just not focusing on exercise or dieting. That’s like saying someone who works 6 day weeks isn’t disciplined if they rot on the couch during their one day off

if my diet was better then I’d be heavier 😭 people have juvenile concepts of how bodies work and how to enact actual change (spoiler: it isn’t by shaming strangers)

Yeah as someone who’s always been slim due to fast metabolism I agree with this. I’ve recently started going to the gym consistently (I’m 22) but in the last few years I was eating terribly, not working out and drinking constantly. My metabolism and adhd meds are the only reason I look the way I do, and if anything I did not feel healthy at all until I started exercising.

right. and sometimes people are skinny bc of genetics. that doesn’t automatically mean they’re more disciplined than someone who’s overweight

Now that I’m gaining more weight due to exercise and eating properly less people ask me what I do to look the way I do compared to when I was extremely thin and underweight
