It’s sickening. My bf and I have different political beliefs. I asked about his opinion on the Alex Pretti case and he fully believes he incited the agents and resisted so his death was justified

That's not a political belief that's just a clinical lack of empathy

How is this not a dealbreaker, I would immediately feel unsafe around someone who thinks like that

Partially agreed with me. The next day he changed his mind back to his original stance. He swears George Floyd was an awful person and a criminal and anyone in the media for police brutality was justified. I told him I was disappointed. I had standards before this. If I had known he felt this way in the early stages I would have left him in a heartbeat

in this case, this is true. but not in all cases. you don’t always need to believe what the other believes to have a happy healthy relationship

if you’re thinking of having a future with them then it matters in all cases. if you are planning to get married or have children with them, you have to. how are you supposed to become one and have differing opinions on big things that always come up in life? how would you raise your children? so yes in all cases it is true

so, he was pinned down, pistol whipped, and pepper sprayed already. completely restrained and nuetralized. how is lethal force acceptable at that point? law enforcement isn't meant to act as judge, jury, and executioner.

I had hope. He showed me the video ai disagreed and did not see a weapon being pulled. The amount of force used was not justified. Additionally, I literally work for a security camera company. It is kind of my job to notice things. I am also in school to work in a healthcare adjacent field. Empathy is a requirement. It feels counterintuitive that he lacks it. I should also mention he is in finance and views things from a more pragmatic stance. At first he said he may change his mind and-

does not mean he should have had his neck kneeled on and his cries for help ignored when he was already detained and that force was unnecessary. cops are not supposed to play judge, jury, and executioner
