Btw that $40-$100 cytology exam test that they charge you for at the vet for an ear infection is literally just them looking through a microscrope and identifying the shape. Meaning, me as a first year biology student could have done that for free.
As someone who works in a vet office, it’s also for labor costs of taking the time from another appointment. That’s being said, I’ve given so many for free bc that’s the stupidest fkn reason.

Honestly if the vet charged me $25 I would be good with it but I’ve been quoted upwards of $140 for these.

I fear that wouldn’t be efficient as legally a vet has to have record of a cytology before prescribing anything. So they’d still pay
