Oh, no this wasn’t self harm, I was trying to separate two frozen breakfast sausages with said plastic butter knife and was a dumbass about it and cut my finger

I’m sorry but how are you not mocking anyone? The core of your joke, though correct me if I’m wrong, is that it’s funny in some way when people express sympathy for those who self harm. That’s why I didn’t take it as a joke because I don’t see how that’s funny, it seemed very genuine to me

Ok well I wasn't mocking you or people who share concern for self harm... I was being ironic, since you accidentally hurt yourself (and we both knew that) I was acting as though it was intentional. The humor lies in the irony.
