Ngl being obsessed with interracial relationships is weird asf on all sides. You have the people who fetishize other races and then the people who are overly anti it. You’re both weird as all hell

I can kinda see the anti only when mixed ppl desperately try to assimilate and lean into their white side while disrespecting their poc side (and that includes other nonwhite races obvi not just biracials)

I get that and there’s a whole other conversation with that but that’s regarding mixed people and in this case poor parenting. That’s not really about interracial couples especially since sadly same thing can happen with people who are mono racial, ask me how many times I had to deal with someone like that to figure it out 🫠

Oh yeah for sure I get you there completely, ppl get so weird when it comes to black men in any relationship or god forbid you’re Asian dating a white guy then it’s “Oxford study 🤓” plus there’s that weird “we must keep our bloodline pure!1!1!1!!!1!” demographic that swear they’re going instinct when there’s over a billion of them

I’ll be completely honest, I’ve noticed an aspect of it is legit just repacked eugenics and heavy misogyny. The amount of times have had people genuinely refer to me as if I’m property of the community with conversations like this is absolutely insane.

ALSO going back to ur og response to me, it has everything to do with interracial couples bc sometimes ppl only date outside of their race bc they hate themselves and when they end up having kids they pass that mindset off to them and so those kids feel a certain type of way towards said race the specific parents hate ykwim?

I know why you mentioned it and that’s why I agreed and added poor parenting. The reason I said I feel like it’s not inherent to the conversation is because not every relationship results in children or is made with the intent of having them and I feel like personally that would better fall under a conversation about mixed people, how they move in the world, and how their parents influence them. Not really a conversation specifically about the relationships that create them. Like I agree I just

felt it was slightly out of place and I don’t like possibly speaking over mixed people which is also why I wanted to push it from that conversation a bit. I also wouldn’t really see that as a reason to be anti it bc again there’s a lot of racial self hating people who aren’t mixed and have similar issues regarding that aspect for some.

but you have to understand why ppl are initially against interracial couples dude like 2 things can be true at once sometimes it’s the fault of the couple sometimes people care too much abt who others are dating

That’s why I said in the post people who fetishize are weird and people who overly anti it are as well. To be completely honest the reason I think even in that case being anti interracial relationships is still weird asf bc 1. The same way there’s many that do that there’s also so many that don’t 2. It’s strange because we had entire laws against it and it’s too close to Jim Crown mentalities for my liking 3. The reasoning doesn’t go together bc again mono racial people can and do act like that

as well so should I be anti mono racial relationships too? No because that’s weird. The behaviors are strange yes but the mere fact of being in an interracial relationship isn’t the problem, it’s the mindset of some of the people in it not the actual relationship concept existing

Me personally I could justify being anti again if the only reason like a black woman is dating a white dude bc she hates black ppl and she wants to get closer to whiteness then it’s hella weirddd but I mean hey by the end of the day everyone should just go where they’re loved so. My entire argument isn’t targeted toward interracial couples as a monolith but just those who do it in spite of their own race

Yeah and my post is about two specific groups of people. It doesn’t make sense to be anti something bc an aspect of that group is bad when there’s also many in that group that aren’t, that’s why being anti the entire concept is strange. I’ve already said people who fetishize are weird and I also already said that people who are obsessed with the relationships just bc of their race are weird too. Also I do need to ask something out of curiosity, earlier you said people are weird about black men

being in interracial relationships but I’m wondering just bc of their example you used do you feel that same way about black women and interracial relationships? That people are weird to them about it as well? Also the reason I said I already mentioned it (to the comment I made above) is because I’ve already addressed those people and I could be wrong but it seems like you’re trying to make a point about them to me when I’ve already addressed that, again, I could be wrong about that though.

Now you’re misunderstanding me, I didn’t say I was anti it as a whole bc of the bad group idc who ppl date im jus saying in some instances im anti and others idgaf

it’s getting to the point where I highkey don’t get what you’re not getting with my replies like not everything is black and white like I deadass feel like I’m repeating myself but it’s just not clicking 😭😭😭

I’m literally saying that bc things aren’t black and white is WHY being anti interracial relationships is weird. I’m literally saying that calling yourself anti interracial relationships is weird asf regardless of the reasoning, which I have been saying in my comments so don’t worry you’re not the only person repeating themselves. Saying that it makes sense or that people have to understand people being anti it bc of a few bad ppl is weird asf bc that’s a strange mentality to have 😐

Saying you’re anti interracial relationships implies that you’re anti all of them. You can say you’re anti fetishization or racial self hating but those statements are different things. You’re trying to tell me you’re anti some of them bc of self hating when I’ve already acknowledged that that was a strange thing for people to do and I also have said that saying “I’m anti interracial relationships because some are self hating” is a strange thing to say because that statement literally means not

liking all of them under the assumption that they’re based on self hate when a large amount aren’t. And as I said before I’ve already said that the people who do it out of self hate are strange. That’s something I’ve already said and we’ve already agreed on and you keep bringing it up as if I’m arguing that it’s not strange when I’ve been saying that saying you’re anti interracial relationships rather than saying anti self hate is 1. An important distinction 2. A weird thing to say especially in

a conversation about people being weird about the relationships in general. You also didn’t answer my question earlier. I’m asking bc there’s certain things I refuse to converse about and depending on the answer it will determine the route of the conversation

To the question earlier about if I see black women and black men the same: yeah duh ppl are weird to black ppl regardless I was just using it as an example since recently there’s this chick on tiktok and twitter that’s a black woman who’s notorious for being weird abt the black community among other things dating a white dude (they’re both weirdo’s, she made him say the n word in a vid and now they’re getting their lashings over it). This whole convo just reminded me of it so…

I was asking people I’ve had to deal with too many people on this topic who are very “black men can date out but not black women” which is part of why I mentioned misogyny earlier. If you were one of those people frankly I would’ve ended the conversation there
