The “melting pot” idea isn’t multiculturalism, it’s that Americans have one “American” identity that was once many different cultures. Not saying I agree with it, but that’s what “melting pot “meant.

That is not true. Certain aspects melt together under one overarching American culture, but diversity and multiculturalism is a major part. Let’s just work through this. If I have a big pot with some broth and I add 10 different vegetables in there one at a time, what is added changes the flavor and each vegetable tastes different.

OOP used the wrong definition of “melting pot” and I corrected them. That does not mean I agree with the “proper” definition. I think you’re right, in fact.

Well that post is unavailable so idk. I also don’t know what “definition” you’re talking about. There are different interpretations and meanings to concepts like that.
