takes girl in when she has nowhere else to go, kisses her when she doesnt understand the concept of a relationship (we kinda let that slide bc they were so young and mike was also just being kind of a dumb kid lol) says ily first, refuses to say it again in s4 until she is on the brink of death (and its lowkey just because will is hyping him up to do it). when mike talks about her he always puts emphasis on "shes a superhero omg!!" and it just feels weird lol

not to mention he refuses to say ily back in s5 too.. also just everything mike did in rink-o-mania was so weird of him

he also wasnt supportive and was quite rude when he found out she was being bullied & the stuff went down at rink o mania in s4 at the end of s5, el could choose 1 person to talk to using her powers before she died. she could have talked to her dad, but instead she chose mike, and he didnt even say i love you back to her

And what was toxic? He’s literally a teenager in his first relationship and is learning. They went through a lot and I think that built them into the strong relationship they became

basically in my opinion they were super attached to each other and couldnt let one another go because of all they had been through, but mike did not treat her well and hands down she deserved way better. & now mikes entire character basically revolves around her bc of how codependent the relationship was
