I truly believe the only reason Nancy overlooked Jonothan taking pictures of her was because Will was missing and she felt bad for him already. Then they became trauma bonded during monster hunting in s1 and that’s why they got together. The only reason they’re still together is because they’re too busy trying to kill Vecna to break up.
