Did anyone actually like the reveal that Henry's powers came from a stone in a briefcase? Because I thought that was super lame. I also don't like how they were used for violence from the start. He should've discovered them innocently but got too curious.

how else would he have gotten them though?? they were in him the whole time for him to discover. and obviously it was violent right away, the mind flayer isn't known for being kind lmao

when the duffels had the idea to make the powers come from some dumb ass rock so they didnt actually have to come up with a real answer for the finale AND it could get them a spinoff for infinite money glitch🤯🤯🫨🫨

Well I mean Eleven was able to go to school (sometimes lmao) with her powers so if Henry's powers started out weaker or more controlled at first then I can see how he could too. I would've much rather gotten to see that than all the cave stuff though. I'm guessing the man with the stone can be loosely tied back to the project rainbow stuff from the play which I didn't watch. I also wouldn't mind if the powers just came entirely from Brenner's experiments but s4 already denied that so whatever

yeah same i would've preferred to see more of the project and get more background informations but also el didn't really have her powers when she went to school (the angela incident) and in some scenes they showed that henry was taken by brenner into the lab when he was still young so technically he couldn't have been in highschool cause he was held in the lab and i don't think that brenner would just let him go to school...

You just answered your own question lol. And couldn't they have just made the mind flayer not inherently evil from the beginning? It could've just given Henry so much power that it was basically doomed to corrupt him. Yes the mind flayer was violent in previous seasons but that was after it became one with Vecna

Oh wait you meant the powers weren't always in him which yes we now know that's the case. I genuinely would've been fine with them just coming from nowhere though. Or really just anything but a rock in a briefcase that makes him immediately kill someone.

if the mind flayer wasn't inherently evil how would there be a story?

and they couldn't come out of nowhere because then there wouldn't be a connection between vecna and the mind flyer
