i agree w what people are saying about the weird/out of character instances of conformity in the epilogue (like robin would NOT wear that for example) but im confused about why people are saying nancy dropping out is "conforming" ? +

she loves school and she only dropped out to take that job so they could do the spinoff

My view on that is she's essentially putting herself back in the same position she was in s2. "Trainee" vs intern is the only difference, and she experienced mass sexism. I can't see her putting herself back into a situation like that again without something to add weight to her words (like further education) in an industry that was so unkind to women

like the way i see it nancy has freed herself from the expectations of professors (and just academics in general) so she can find herself without those pressures, also her parents probably expected her to stay in college so she IS going against that also i do not believe in conformitygate or whatever like i rlly dont think there are extra episodes ๐Ÿ’€

I don't think it's necessarily her conforming, I just don't think she would do it. Also her having the exact same haircut as Karen after saying repeatedly how she doesn't want to be like her is weird to me

ohhh yeah i see what you mean & i thought she just meant she didnt want to be stuck in a shitty marriage like her mom, but that makes sense. its a shame cuz i really like her hair why did they have to give it to karen too ๐Ÿ’”

I think that was the primary thing, but I also find it unlikely Karen went to college so imo this just puts Nancy on a path where she's more likely to meet her version of Ted and end up like her mom (even though I am a firm believer that she and Jonathan end up together post-epilogue) But agreed she looks SOOOOO good with that hair like hey nance ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
