I think the time jump was like 18 months or something like that so it has been a while, he’s probably fallen into an emotional pit and possibly depression as he’s become so pessimistic and irritable. Still though it’s hard watching him the first few episodes 😵‍💫

Exactly, and people are acting like Steve’s writing is out of character or he’s regressing because of how he’s talking Dustin as if he didn’t literally say he’s been supporting him whilst being exhausted with his behavior. Like he’s literally 19-20 at most, he’s not Dustin’s actual parent and I think the fandom forgets that 😭
