Genuinely confused on why the they had Vecna come out of a portal to the military base, tell Will his evil plan, only to immediately fuck off and let the Demogorgons continue abducting the kids. Like it felt sloppy to use that into introduce Will’s powers

I guess I agree, tho I get why the Duffer Bros did it—they needed a moment of high tension to cap off the first half release. Vecna didn’t show up for the plot, he showed up because it’s awesome. And it WAS awesome

I’m hoping we get a legitimate reason why he came out to talk to will specifically. Idk maybe they’ll have a way to justify it.

Oh trust me, that moment was hype, I just mean it retrospective it felt kinda useless? Like ik they had to reveal him to build suspense + mystery on what’s behind the door in the upside down and have Will use his powers, I just wish it had more substance after.

i feel like revealing him was definitely needed. up until now we’ve only seen him as jamie campbell bowers and i think it’s important for the audience to be reminded of who they’re actually up against. plus we have to remember vecna’s still human with human emotions. personally i read it as him being annoyed with all the meddling and using it as a power ploy

I know why they had to show Vecna for various reason, both to build audience anticipation and move the plot forward, the point I’m making is that IN TEXT it was pointless of Vecna to show up just to do nothing but aurafarm. Like, I wished they were more clever about it
