
It’s best that they didn’t tbh. 1) it would’ve been so predictable, I saw like a dozen theories about that. 2) They’d just be repeating what Billy did from season 3, it makes his sacrifice more impactful knowing he was the only one (besides will kind of) to resist the mind flayer’s control 3) The redemption trope is so common, it’s good to see a villain follow through. But I definitely felt bad for him, no doubt. The performance was phenomenal
