I'm late to this but literally it doesn't even make sense for them to do that. The entire play is about how Henry never wanted to be controlled by the mind flayer and fought it for as long as he could and because his life got so horrible and brenner got involved is why the mind flayer won. Them having Henry say that he chose to do the things he did every time in the s5 finale is directly going against the play they made canon because no he didn't??

Especially after openly confirming she parallels Mike and Henry parallels Will... the setup was perfect for a "love wins" narrative because Henry's love for party was overpowered by the trauma he endured but Will's love for Mike and his friends and family would not have been overpowered but nooooo they're bad writerd
