To be fair when he fought the droid he was just being over aggressive and went for a swing that would have left him super open if it didnt connect, which it didnt. The fact he tanked 2 swift punches and a slam from a 7 foot tall war robot without issue is still pretty divine in my opinion lol

It's because he was raised by false Jedi... qui gon would have prevented his darkness by allowing him to express emotion. That's why Obi wan isn't really a Jedi either, but he's torn between his own masters teachings and the council. He lets Anakin see Padme because he understands those feelings, but he doesn't really support him to his face, so Ani feels as though he's hiding it from his brother
