I also don’t really care because as a longtime Boba fan they’re not erasing his history or anything, it’s just kinda lazy. But anyway, the ship’s original name was a cool tie in to Jengo’s backstory and I hope we at least will have more effort put into exploring Jango and Boba’s EXTENSIVE histories.
If they changed it to something like “imprisoned individual I” then that would he kinda odd but the new name makes sense. I mean is the name “Slave I” even mentioned in any of the movies? As far as I know it’s not. I just find it annoying when some random guy goes “I’m glad you used the real name🤓” every time someone says Slave I without fail
I know a lot of Fett nerds don’t like it but I’m fine with it. Also I’ve been around long enough that most of my stuff says Slave I on the box. It wasn’t said in the movies, it wasn’t said in the mandalorian, and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t said in clone wars. I understand why they’re doing it, and yes it’s a double standard cause you’d never see “Han Solo’s freighter”. Similar to how they stopped selling the “slave leia” figures for a while.
I totally agree. I mean it’s called the Slave I in all the supporting media, that’s indisputably the official name. But sometimes I call the executor “Vaders star destroyer” or “Vaders flagship.” I usually call it the Slave I in general but I just don’t get why people get so worked up over the name of a kids toy.
