I think the sequels should’ve just started a new story instead of picking up where the past stories left off since those stories were finished. Admittedly Force Awakens is one of my favorite Star Wars movies because I believed the new characters had so much potential and the theater experience of that movie was highly enjoyable. They just banked too much on nostalgia by just rehashing what the past movies had already done and everyone just ended up getting the short ends of a stick.
