I think one core element of Star Wars that has seriously been lost and I wish they would bring back is the fact that one of the big story elements of the OT were cowboy westerns mixed with the fantasy elements of King Arthur, but in space.

Season 1 of Mandalorian tried to bring back those cowboy western elements, but quickly started to lose them in the later seasons. I need the space cowboys back.

I never saw too much of a cowboy theme besides Han and everything that sprouted from his character like Lando and Boba besides that it always felt way more samurai in theme and aesthetic not to say I don’t want more of that all those moments i just never got much of a cowboy vibe after they left tattooine

The Original Trilogy takes on the “New Frontier” trope and plot points from Western movies! But then again the Original Trilogy has a lot of movie trope elements mashed together such as samurai’s, King Arthur, sci-fi, fantasy, etc. It is a massive collage.

Nah fs but I never really did focus on the cowboy elements so I’m glad you brought that to my attention bc I grew up on the classics I was raised by 60 year olds when I was 10 so that’s most my media lol I think my next watch through gonna be fun looking for those western moments but yea that new frontier idea I can definitely see now that you point it out specifically
