He did but they hardly knew him still. In fact Leia knew him as Obi-Wan Kenobi (“Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.”) While Han didn’t really care for Kenobi at all because Kenobi was just the “Crazy old fossil” to him. Really the only reason why Disney named Kylo Ren, Ben Solo, because it’s a reference to Luke’s kid in the Legends books.
