as a poc who's mixed, i want to join a sorority as a sopho when i transfer but i'm not totally sure since i don't wanna go d9. i've considered panhellenic and latina sororities and i'm highly leaning towards panhellenic. what should i do?

I always would suggest panhellenic formal rush, this will show you which house you will fit best 🫶🏻💕

plenty of panhellenic sororities are mixed, might be a lower ratio but no one would bat an eye if you were to rush panhellenic

Hey queen :) So I am in a sorority as a mixed Latina/black girl and honestly go for it! I know I wanted to try rush and although I went in with a complete open mind, I had previous top choices and got it despite me obviously not being the “stereotype”. That being said, I know many girls who rushed as sophomores and maybe it’s for u or maybe it’s not. But just go for it 🩷 don’t look at it like ur different but rather in the best mindset

Learn more about what the chapters do (activities, philanthropies, etc) and try to meet people in both (or other orgs) if you can! It might also depend on your school how different councils are structured and hence how things would look from within the chapter. You can always try talking to a staff member of your campus’ greater sorority/fraternity office as well!

Also, if u don’t like Panhellenic try the multicultural ones. I don’t know how they are but they seem just as amazing!
