What is acting like a big? Asking as someone who hasnt gotten her big yet, i have no idea what their purpose is

Their supposed to act like your “big sister” she is supposed to be your biggest support in and outside of Greek life. Especially if your a new member have questions on how things work or even what to wear your big should be there to help you.
