How do you deal with flaky skin while on tretinoin? I already do the sandwich method and slug nightly nothing helps

If you are already on the lower tret strength (0.025), you could try switching to an over the counter retinol or retinal option. Tret is already in the active retinoic acid form but retinol and retinal need to go through 2 and 1 conversion step respectively, before becoming the active retinoic acid form. This could be a gentler option until your skin gets more used to using a retinoid.

sometimes i give my skin a break from tret for a day or two. especially when my skin is very dry or when it burns when i apply other skincare products. i hope this helps!

what percentage is it? are you using the cream or gel? I find the gel more drying. also have u tried plant squalane? might just be ur skin purging too, it can take a bit to adjust to prescription skin care. sorry if this is a lot !!

If it’s burning I’d stop because it’s really irritated. Flakiness can go away with gentle toner pads as sheet masks after the Sandwich method. When toner pads dry a little wipe downwards to clean off the dead skin gently

Try using snail mucin to slug beforehand and use a hyaluronic acid.
