Please lock in… supporting slave labor will not make you a better artist. I’ve been drawing on my phone for almost a decade now, and the only purchase I ever made was a nice Bluetooth pen for it. New tools are exciting, but it is so much better to wait, save up, and buy something that will work

Well, being disabled with no family support means I live paycheck to paycheck. My savings consists of $0.02. I don’t have the luxury of putting money aside if I want to afford my medication, shelter, and groceries. I’m happy that you have that luxury. But don’t assume we all do. My clothes are from shein. My furniture a mixture of temu of second hand FB Marketplace. I am very mobility limited and art happens to be one of the very very few of my hobbies I can still do.

I’m not looking to become a better artist. I’m looking for a device that will be easier for me to manage now that I’ve begun losing my eyesight more.

I agree with them saying you gotta lock in though. do you seriously expect a 10 dollar tablet off of the shiftiest website on earth to function? that thing is gonna give you 8g radiowave cancer and spontaneously combust the minute you press the power button 😭 try finding something secondhand off of ebay or refurbished online

I’m not looking for a $10 tablet but $70 minimum is still like two weeks of groceries. I’m not looking to spend money I don’t have. Even just getting a drawing pad to hook to a monitor. It’s not like I’m tryna use it for games an honestly, I’m not sure how long I’ll live for so I’m gonna live the time I got left finding the small things to enjoy myself. Yall tryna say lock in but I’m tryna lock in for ME and spending the time I have left, the mobility, eyesight, all of it, enjoying it best I can

You dont know people’s situations, what they going through, etc. so, respectfully, if you’re tryna tell me to look somewhere and it is still gonna cost a week’s+ of groceries, just move on. This question ain’t meant for you at that point. Cancer is not a concern for me at this point. Done have it.

I’m not saying lock in as in accept you’ll have to spend more money, lock in as in realize that temu is an extremely scammy website and you might end up wasting your money purchasing a tablet from there. tablets are generally expensive, but drawing pads are significantly less expensive, so that’s probably a better choice. The Wacom Intuos is under $50, i used to have one and it was cool. Walmart has a listing for a tablet >$30 but they’ve been known to have scam listings online so be careful

Yes, but saying “lock in” as if someone is doing something wrong is crazy when u don’t know them. The economy sucks. Second hand and refurbished is still SO expensive. Ppl should not be shamed for surveying their options. I wasn’t saying I was going to buy one. I was asking on advice on cheap ones from websites “from temu OR anything”

If you didn’t fully read it, I said Temu OR ANYTHING. Temu was not the only option I was presenting. I was looking for particular websites. Refurbished on eBay are still very expensive for me

I appreciate your advice but “lock in” is such a dumb ass phrase I hate it. I can’t just spend more money. Not everyone can. I’m aware Temu is scammy but there are always decent listings as well. And like I said, I was perusing a variety of options. Telling someone to lock in you might as well be saying “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” like some out of touch boomer
