-at the whip and auction block. this is how our social classes were created. with this in mind, the phrase “cruel and unusual punishment” is a legal phrase (obviously, because we’re talking about bringing back something allegedly prohibited). thing is - it’s always been there it’s just asymmetrically employed (the state isn’t egalitarian for starters!) and not only do racialized people get tortured/raped/killed by the state but even if you’re white and oppose the state / become an abolitionist,

you don’t have actual moral clarity if you believe that keeping elites alive is the right thing to do. a) reject the premise of human rights bestowed by the state. you have none. they have always been conditional. the moment you exercise them in a way that threatens their interests, you die. [also that the justice system is ineffective. look at the way FBI agents investigating ts were killed by the CIA and the whole government has been doing a massive cover-up].

b) you don’t actually have moral clarity about what ‘you’re fighting for’. you are advocating for current, egregiously inadequate legal mechanisms, and not even using them for accountability, but rather as counterrevolutionary policing and moral purity testing people for their natural reaction to such abhorrent information. c) “our country has already progressed” OFF OF THE BLOOD THE GLOBAL SOUTH??? hello??? d) what “same mistakes”? when has the state ever given us enough power to make them?
