This literally backs OP’s point. Women are held to a higher standard looks-wise which causes them to spend so much on “grooming.” Men don’t spend as much on grooming because it’s more socially acceptable for them to be unattractive.

the market share of gendered makeup products isnt representative of how many men wear makeup, since any makeup can be worn by any person regardless of its advertising. 15% of hetero men use makeup, and one survey claim 72% of young men (18-30) use makeup in the US. obviously this is an understudied topic, but you should still use the right statistics.

that’s not why people wear makeup, people wear it to accentuate what’s already there; to make what’s good better. not everyone wears makeup just to be “not ugly,” most people who wear it do so because they just like it

those are literal celebrities, like 1 out of several BILLION people. and likewise males just as ugly can garner (female) attention, just look at the likes chris chan or king cobra jfs… but i digress.. i was talking about your regular “average ugly” woman, they get just as little attention as the average “ugly” male. it’s a symptom of a deeply apathetic, cancerous society.

I doubt that’s always true…the most alcohol I’ve ever had has been a single glass of brandy, and that was a single night of my life, and I still have a belly like that. Combination of genetics and workout areas would be my guess

Male hormones prioritize storing weight on the upper body for extra upper body mass which helps with intimidation and fighting and “pushing your weight around” as compared to weight on the legs which slows you down and makes your upper body look smaller. Also it can’t go to the breasts because then they look like women. So the only place left was the stomach for physical and intimidation reasons.

I’d say the reason there are more pretty women is because men set their standard for looks too high. The most well groomed men spend the same amount of time on looks as the average woman, if not less, and while the men are praised for it, the women are expected to do it.

actually it’s just the location of androgen receptors, estrogen receptors, and testosterone quantities. Fun fact for you, postmenopausal women will have their body fat shift also to the upper body. (Because of estrogen changes during menopause).
