Ooo, I know this will be an unpopular hot take, but I feel like pop music would have evolved similarly without her. Not that her songs don’t hit or that she’s not influential, she’s absolutely an icon. But I don’t feel like she is irreplaceable in the same way Madonna, Beyoncé, or Michael Jackson is. Even arguments for Kate Bush or björk being more irreplaceable.
