I live in a red state and apparently (this is all alleged) there’s ICE agents dropping off DoorDash orders to people with Hispanic/Latin last names. Heard this from a former friend’s social media post

I do Doordash and for a while it was only asking me to say how safe I felt when I was dropping off orders to Latino and Arab names

Also allegedly, ICE are sitting outside Latin owned businesses to intimidate the owners and consumers of these businesses

it does it for everyone now, so idk if it was just that some other driver was using the safety check feature when they dropped off to the people it asked me about or if it was just coincidence as the new feature rolled out or if it was the algorithm being racist.. but I noticed.

it didn't show the person's name when it asked, the screen with the name & address would go away and it would show the dasher homescreen with "how safe did you feel while dropping off this order" and a scale of 1-5
