I think it is more nuanced that that, I lost a lot of friendships after a recent development in my chronic illness made me unable to go out and do things. I didn’t break up with my partner because of this though, they actually help me through it.

There’s no difference in maintaining a relationship and friendship imo tho like they both require effort and in the same way u describe them to be able to leave like game pieces someone ur dating can to.

What you’re saying does make a sense, but this post is generally talking about emotional availability which doesn’t seem like the cause of your inability to maintain or start friendships

My emotional availability is pretty low just from general exhaustion lol but yeah not trying to bean soup ya
