Females work best when referring to animals so that’s why it would be offensive to call a human women that

It’s what weirdos refer to women whenever they degrade them and now I fear I’ve associated ppl who say it with being weird (they usually are)

I think it’s fine to refer to us in situations where we’re talking about humans in general being animals. like yeah, there are differences between the sexes, as if we were watching ourselves on animal planet. But with that knowledge, using “females” in a social settings dehumanizes women in general, like they only see us as animals and themselves as humans. And they most certainly aren’t scientists so why tf are you calling us females? I’m a woman.

the only mildly acceptable way to call women “females” is in a medical or biological setting even then its iffy

“The female anatomy” - yes okay “Females just…” - not okay. “Women just…” - okay. Now add in tone and context.

I think the word female is not offensive it’s just the men that use this word that have ruined it’s reputation. Humans recognize patterns. A lot of women have realized that men who use this word on a regular basis are misogynistic. The other thing that surprises me is that most of these men don’t even know they have biased views towards women. They’re so used to how they think that they can’t even see or hear what they’re really doing.

it’s not even grammatically correct, female/male are adjectives, not nouns 😭

Unless specifically talking in a scientific context, it’s just demeaning when speaking about a physical person who is multifaceted

“Female” is what you say when you’re applying for a passport. Not what you say to actual people when you’re talking to them in public

female is a scientific term, if you are talking about things in a clinical context, then it’s fine, other than that, it’s weird

I hate when men do that. I don’t refer to men as “males” because I respect them. They say it as if we’re some sort of mysterious specimens its disgusting.

If a man exclusively uses the word “female” when talking about women that’s an automatic red flag and a sign that he is likely a bigoted incel 🚩

Idc if someone calls me what I am, I can’t decide their intention behind it unless it’s obvious and some guys ik use it and don’t know it’s offensive and don’t mean it that way. Not all females are women in my opinion, by how they act. But I prefer woman bc that’s how I identify.

Fr. I’ve never met a non-misogynistic man who refers to women as females. 🤷

Because it is reducing the human intelligence down to a lower animal. It’s often said in a degrading manner too

I wouldn’t say it’s iffy in general. Especially for animal science we call them male and female all the time. But they are animals so it is different.

Lol you’re loud and wrong. I Would be glad to prove I’m not lolll but I don’t have to. The fact that I am a woman says that y’all are caring wayyy too much. If it makes you feel any better, call a man a male if he refers to you as a female idk what else to tell you…

If you wanna feel offended by being referred to as a female then thats your prerogative. But I’m not letting other ppl “dehumanize” me by letting it slide either. I am a human period. Another human can’t take that away from me 😂

And for humans, female is probably the most scientific way of saying women when you have to act professionally. Like a case study might say “22 year old female patient”. They aren’t trying to diminish them but they are looking at it solely through the scientific lens
