There’s something about this phrase that jolted me awake to go “Oh yeah. Exactly.” I thought I grasped that concept. But hearing/seeing it phrased aloud was certainly a eureka moment.

Bby that’s misandry and not feminism. And half the time ppl say that it’s a joke. Not saying it’s right. But still

the term “misandry” was created as a rhetorical counterpart to misogyny to downplay patriarchy. misandry is not a real thing. for future reference, just call it sexism.

And yet “I hate men” is the worst it gets. Misogyny KILLS.

I can definitely see what #1 is saying though. Modern day feminism is in fact basing everything on hating men. That’s why #1 specified “modern”. Women who claim to be feminists are simply just man haters, but they are the loudest and in turn becoming the face of this false feminism.

No I do get it. I don’t think the matter is black and white. But to say that all of modern feminism boils down to that is absurd. There is so much more to modern feminism than that. And I think the perpetuation of that simplified version of modern feminism harms it as a whole. So to just agree with him would be bad ykwim

When all people see are the man haters who claim to be feminists, there isn’t much more room to move away from that stereotype. That’s why women are no longer claiming to be feminists, because of what we are shown as the new wave. Majority of people are in fact feminists, but they do not resonate with what they see today.

While I don’t know what #1 truly feels, I can only speak anecdotally🤷🏽‍♀️

Hey, just so you know- the feminist take down videos are meant to put you on the algorithm to go down alt right pipeline. You’re not seeing it because it’s common you’re seeing it because it’s what get views for the alt right. Have you ever seen a takedown video of misogynistic men? No, but there are a whole ass compilations for “feminist”s “woke feminist gets owned” “angry feminists get their shit rocked” blah blah

Half the time for these compilations they’re not even saying anything about men- I remember in middle to highschool when that was all the rage but you gotta think a bit more critically about why that was flooded onto social media and framed like that.

I have seen those videos of misogynistic men being put in their place, albeit it’s certainly not as popular so I see what you’re saying. But I was referring to things I’ve seen and heard in person as well as people online who completely miss the point of what true feminism is

The movement of hating men, of misandrists, is a result of feminism only because women didn’t have the RIGHT to be so openly critical of men before. Feminism gave women the right to criticize men to the same level they criticize women. While in a perfect world people would criticize others less for trivial things, there are many flaws in the current way men act as a whole. so while the goal of feminism isn’t to destroy men- it did lead to the emergence of the man hater.

I think women have a right to hate their oppressors a bit

that’s an amazing point. regardless of “hate”, feminism does not systematically belittle or harm men in the same way that women face. it’s not even close
