“this thing is over” have you ever heard of denial, one of the most common aftereffects of being raped? you clearly have no idea what rape victims go through if you think that text is a “gotcha” 💀

denial is a clinical term for when the mind blocks out a traumatic event. Here she clearly acknowledged the event, and made a conscious decision later to revoke it. This case is open and shut, dude.

if you want to interpret it that way, sure. in that case, she was in a delusion. also a common trauma response. you’re so eager to pass this off as though smarter minds than yours (or mine) haven’t analyzed this lol

pretty much anyone informed on rape & trauma would tell you denial & delusion is a common response I fear. Giuffra is her attorney fyi, and every source I’ve found about common rape trauma responses include denial or something similar.

example source, it's a crisis center which frequently works with rape victims. I imagine you'll respect reliable sources who actually interact with victims rather than your own detached judgement. https://www.mrcc.ie/resources/emotional-reactions-to-rape/

Yep, I remember when I got assaulted, it took me texting three friends about what happened to even get to the point of “I think I just got r@ped” and a few more to successfully be persuaded to call the cops (who didn’t help)

Of course, her attorney would say she’s in denial. Had a clinician said that? In the clinical sense of the word? In testimony?

“what happened?” does it fucking matter? point is, after a traumatic event your brain blocks it out and makes you believe it wasn’t real. it takes time for your brain to realize the gravity of the situation and what actually happened. it’s extremely common and happens to most. why are you fishing?

dawg. you were 100% sure this was “over” in your original comment. I told you there was still a likely & possible explanation that makes this not “over,” and now you want evidence to prove you’re 100% wrong. that’s not how this works lmao. this case isnt “over” as long as there’s doubt. stop being so black & white on this.

Ok, has a psychologist provided testimony that Jane doe experienced denial of the event? She rather articulately referred to the event via text message in the days after.
