hot take but as a lesbian i see nothing wrong with potentially bi girls calling themselves lesbians as long as they don't go for men while doing it. if you only want women than you're a lesbian. if you end up wanting a guy then turns out you are bi. tbh i'd tell a straight women to call herself a lesbian to get men to back off so long as she wasn't trying to get with any. women take no for an answer wayyyyyy better than men

If I were to give some input, perhaps be discretionary in how you use that strategy. Have some firmness in your sexuality about telling men you’re into women. It’ll give it more weight. At the very least, sussing out a man who thinks he can turn a lesbian straight is pretty effective at confirming any suspicions of the “ick.” Don’t know if this advice is entirely coherent.
