as someone with a panic disorder, if your priorities are taking out a phone, filming yourself, captioning it, and posting it on social media, you’re not having a panic attack. beyond being terrifying, it actually can have serious physical health consequences if untreated, and faking (or misspeaking with no authority on) stuff like this is going to prevent people from seeking emergency help when they see someone having a real emergency in public.

i could not under ANY circumstances want a panic attack to be filmed. you know how embarrassing hyperventilating on the floor is?

i think some people genuinely do it to spread awareness or to show a doctor. it’s the same with seizures or something that no one would believe unless they saw it

there was a followup video saying that she previously had a situation where her spine was fractured during turbulence and many other people got injured. i have panic attacks, and i know they can present differently. it’s really hard to judge. you can definitely recover from a panic attack quickly. it just depends on the person

have you actually had a panic attack? my point is that if you’re present and thinking ahead enough to think to document it, you’re not cognitively impaired in the ways a panic attack does.

personally, i feel them coming on. it feels like they have an aura like a migraine. in her situation, she knew that she was going to be anxious and was filming for most of the flight

my bad, i thought those were two different people commenting. if you’re on medication for your general anxiety disorder, you may want to ask your doctor if it’s appropriate for people who also have panic attacks, because i know someone who had good results from changing ssris.
