
ok being real tho like coerced compliance does not make one guilty of whatever comes from that compliance. we’re not the ones that cause the war crimes and we’re not complicit in them - the government is. it’s wrong to blame the people for war crimes as we had nothing to do with it and are forced to pay taxes to the government, which in turn use that money in destructive ways. we’re not the ones that performed these actions - we simply must comply.
"the way we all are" no. they are complicit in a very direct and tangible way. others are complicit by proxy. the average citizen is only complicit through dozens of layers of taxes that they have no direct control over and cannot opt out of, unlike military service which has been entirely voluntary for decades this false equivalency is paramount to double speak - an attempt to minimize the more direct involvement of soldiers in atrocities, war crimes and crimes against humanity
