got chewed out by some officer’s wife in public for stolen valor bc i had an open-top PURSE that had camo lining on the INSIDE that had pink in it and obviously wasn’t a style anyone in the military would wear. stay safe out there.

I cackled 😂 I love how camo looks on people but I hate the military industrial complex and all of the bullshit behind it.

I was watching Real Housewives of Potomac and when they went on vacation one of the girls was informed that her camo backpack was illegal in their country 😳

Veterans are mostly working class people many of whom have been physically disabled and traumatized. They are complicit in war crimes the way we all are.

ok being real tho like coerced compliance does not make one guilty of whatever comes from that compliance. we’re not the ones that cause the war crimes and we’re not complicit in them - the government is. it’s wrong to blame the people for war crimes as we had nothing to do with it and are forced to pay taxes to the government, which in turn use that money in destructive ways. we’re not the ones that performed these actions - we simply must comply.

military recruitment occurs most heavily in areas with higher POC populations & lower income, they exclusively target children and young adults, and they promise things like healthcare and college. These are all methods of coercion.

"the way we all are" no. they are complicit in a very direct and tangible way. others are complicit by proxy. the average citizen is only complicit through dozens of layers of taxes that they have no direct control over and cannot opt out of, unlike military service which has been entirely voluntary for decades this false equivalency is paramount to double speak - an attempt to minimize the more direct involvement of soldiers in atrocities, war crimes and crimes against humanity

I haven’t bought anything in three weeks (I’ve been eating stockpiled pasta) so speak for YOURself. but also I agree that you don’t have to feel guilty for being coerced into a shitty system, but recognizing it’s shitty is still important. I think we agree tho

If you haven’t lost to the Vietnamese, can you even call yourself an occupying power? 🤣 (Joke from one of my favourite authors/YouTubers, Xiran Jay Zhao).
