I’m tired of seeing everyone attribute men’s thoughts and actions to misogyny. I mean, they’re not wrong. But I’m just tired of seeing the levels of hating women.

I understand where you’re coming from. I really do. There’s a gap between where you’re at and what people mean by misogyny and many of those who attribute men’s actions of misogyny might miss the gap themselves. The misogyny argument comes from a systems perspective, not necessarily an individual’s perspective. It requires a deep understanding of why things are the way they are. Not everyone is good at explaining that—it’s not faulting any given individual, it’s an attack on the system.

I understand this. I don’t hate men. I hate this culture we’ve been raised in. The fact that even I’m subconsciously misogynistic in ways I don’t realize because of how we’re raised is disturbing.

Part of what you are getting at is how others assume, too. You have to be curious and be uncomfortable and ask “why?” strategically. It’s faulty to assume everything men do is attributed to misogyny
