Update. Just had a conversation with her and she was screaming yelling at everyone saying she shouldn’t have to pay because it’s not her dog and not her problem!
Roomate 1 gave my other roomates (2) dog a grape and then the dog got really sick and had to spend the night at the vet and roomate one hasn’t said sorry and is being a bitch and hasn’t even offered to pay for any part of the very expensive bill. Crazy?

One benefit of pets being seen as property: you can take that roommate to small claims court and make her pay for property damage to cover the cost of medical bills A benefit of animal laws being passed: you can have her charged under animal welfare laws (if you can prove she knew grapes are highly toxic to dogs and knowingly fed the grape anyway, or charged as an act of negligence)

Honestly, this isn’t about whether it’s “her dog”. she caused the situation. Grapes are toxic to dogs, and her actions led directly to an emergency vet visit. Even if she didn’t intend harm, taking responsibility and helping cover the bill is the bare minimum. Refusing to do so and yelling at everyone just makes it worse.

Maybe since it’s “not her dog” she shouldn’t be giving it random food? Like what is she even talking about😭

I don’t think she knew but I feel like it’s common sense
