I’m on my second roommate that has caused there to be a bunch of fruit flies in our living space. Reminds me a lot of the first time with a different roommate when there were over 100 and I got snowed in for a snow storm 😭😭

fuck that's awful, the apple fruit fly traps work well though I've been through the same thing as well and it was awful😭. it took her over two months to clean her pile of dishes so our apartment was coated in fruit flies

They are from the drain. Pour bleach down it.

The first time was because she didn’t throw her trash out before we left for winter break (had ice cream in there) and I think this time is because my current roommate also lets things spoil then throws them in the trash which doesn’t get taken out for probably roughly 1 1/2 weeks at a time (it’s just her and I so we don’t accumulate a ton of trash)

I actually have one out currently! It’s an apple cider vinegar trap but they’re clustered in the trash can and fly out anytime it’s opened, it gives me chills 😵‍💫 Mine ironically flips out if a dirty pan is left in the sink for just 2 hours 🫠🔫
