living with roommates i was paying up to $200 a month in utilities (as in there was 2-3 roommates so it’d be up to $600+ total) and now that i live alone i dont pay more than $40… i wasn’t the problem then nor now

yes and before you say the square footage difference thing it was bc they left the lights on fans on tvs on etc that was the difference im talking about

Oh no I was just curious! Im in your old situation now! I never had to pay so much when i lived in an apartment and only payed 50 on average for utilities. Now im paying $120 and I try to keep everything off and unplugged (but ofc i have roommates that dont care because they pay less)

yea size of the unit can make a difference but shouldn’t be THAT much of a difference. do the math of the size of your last place vs the size of this one and if 50 vs 120 makes sense bc yea roommates leaving things on or running is the one factor that can be changed

i even lived i two separate units in that complex. same square footage same number of roommates. nobody left things on or running. the difference in cost was absolutely shocking it was 1000% their fault for not turning lights off it was ridiculous it cost that much
